I went to the focacceria today to ask fo an interview with Fabio Conticello, the brother of owner Vincenzo Conticello. Vincenzo, back in 2007, stood up in court and pointed the finger at the mafioso who came to the restaurant and demanded protection money. This was an unprecedented act of courage. Five Mafiosa went to jail for a total of 50 years. I didn't ask for an interview with Vincenzo himself because I know he lives in hiding in Milan now, travels with an armed guard in an armored car with tinted windows and a blue light atop it, and never lives in one place for long due to death threats from the mafia.
